The S.T.E.M. and Agriculture Enrichment program promotes positive behavioral changes that include better nutrition and increases physical activity among participants while teaching entrepreneurial skills to the youth through the farmers’ market and its weekly activities. This program provides jobs to young adults and gives them exposure to new opportunities in the agriculture industry. Also, engagement in the gardening activities provide opportunities to engage with science and over time prompts a spark of interest of those interested in STEM literacy.
